BIG PRAIRIE FIRE DEPARTMENT NEWS
Big Prairie township’s new first Responder truck was
delivered by Borgman Ford on July 21, 2008. The township saved
funds earmarked for the Fire Department for several years
in order to pay for this truck. We were able to refinish the
box from the old truck, which saved the township quire a bit
of money. The Big Prairie Township Fire Dept. has responded
to 191 emergency calls from January 1 through October 31,
2008.
Please remember that it is illegal to burn without a permit.
If you are planning to burn, please call the burn hotline
at 231-745-3111 or apply for a one day permit at www.michigandnr.com/burnpermits.
Permits are issued only for limbs, brush, stumps, evergreen
needles, leaves, and grass clippings. It is NOT legal to burn
demolition debris, construction materials, or automotive parts.
